Margaret Lampert
Personal Background
Studied Art History and English at the University of New Hampshire. After graduating, began working in the department of Prints, Drawings and Photographs at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. When Margaret’s mother died, she began to take pictures of the land around where she grew up. "The trees are the grandparents I never had.”- This quote from the website that I am getting my information off of, really resonates with me. I understand what it is like to grow up with a family that you have heard of but have never met. I grew up hearing stories of my dads dads side of the family but I have never met them. I would really like to meet them, but I have no idea if that is ever going to happen. Style She tends to do a lot of lifestyle photography of people. A lot of her work is centered around catching what people are doing at the moment. I wouldn’t say her work can be compared to an art history style but I could compare it to any type of stylistic painting. Her work is amazing and I love how she can make the smallest little adjustment and it can completely change the image. Philosophy Margaret Lampert is often focusing on the little things. The things that most people cannot see with their eyes. With Margaret's mom passing away, she got to do a trip and take pictures of the landscape she grew up on. She said that eyes are the most important part of a picture. If you can get the focus on the eyes, it can impact the picture heavily. Influences Margaret did a trip with an art museum and she went back to where she grew up and took pictures of the land she grew up on. It changed her life. She really loved the ability to change her look of where she grew up. After her mom died she realized she should appreciate the little things. She would work with a photographer and they would give her tips on how she should shoot her photos. |
